Neo-Medrol Acne Lotion 25ml Neo-Medrol Acne Lotion is a prescription-strength topical suspension historically used to treat inflammatory skin conditions. It is formulated with a combination of a corticosteroid, an antibiotic, and drying agents to target acne from multiple angles. Key Benefits & Uses Neo-Medrol is typically prescribed for: Acne Vulgaris:... Reducing inflammation and fighting bacteria associated with pimples. Acne Rosacea: Managing facial redness and bumps. Seborrheic Dermatitis: Treating oily, scaly skin patches. Active Ingredients Methylprednisolone acetate (2.5 mg/ml): A corticosteroid that reduces swelling and redness. Neomycin sulfate (2.5 mg/ml): An antibiotic that combats acne-causing bacteria. Aluminum chlorhydroxide & Colloidal Sulfur: Drying agents that help control excess oil and promote skin exfoliation. Safety Alert: Discontinuation & Counterfeits Important Market Update: Pfizer globally discontinued the production of Neo-Medrol Acne Lotion in 2021. Due to its popularity and subsequent scarcity, NAFDAC has issued public alerts (e.g., Alert No. 044/2022) regarding counterfeit versions circulating in Nigeria. Many bottles currently labeled "Neo-Medrol" with recent manufacture dates are likely falsified and may be unsafe. Recommended Alternatives in Nigeria Because of the high risk of fakes, we recommend switching to a NAFDAC-registered alternative manufactured locally. Neo-Presol Lotion by Drugfield Pharmaceuticals contains the same active ingredients and is widely available and regulated. You can consult a Meddylab pharmacist for guidance on switching safely. How to Use Always use as directed by a healthcare professional. Generally, the lotion is applied 1?2 times daily to the affected area after cleaning. Shake well before use as the ingredients settle.
