Relieve Itchy and Red Eyes with Optrex Allergy 2% Eye Drops Optrex Allergy 2% Eye Drops (10ml) is a specialized anti-allergic treatment designed to provide effective relief from the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis. Whether you are dealing with seasonal hay fever or perennial allergies caused by dust, pollen, or pet... dander, these eye drops work to soothe irritation and restore comfort. How It Works: Sodium Cromoglicate The active ingredient in Optrex Allergy is Sodium Cromoglicate (2% w/v). This component acts as a mast cell stabilizer. Instead of just treating the symptoms, it helps prevent the release of histamine and other natural substances in the eye that cause redness, itching, and watering. For the best results during allergy season, it is recommended to use the drops regularly to keep symptoms at bay. Key Benefits for the Nigerian Climate In Nigeria, environmental factors like harmattan dust and high pollen counts can frequently trigger eye allergies. Optrex Allergy is formulated to: Reduce Redness: Quickly calms inflamed eyes. Stop Itching: Relieves the "pepperish" sensation often associated with allergies. Control Watering: Helps manage excessive tearing caused by irritants. Usage and Dosage For adults and children aged 6 years and older: Wash your hands thoroughly before use. Gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Place 1 or 2 drops into each eye. Repeat this process 4 times daily, or as directed by your pharmacist. Note: If you wear soft contact lenses, you should remove them before applying these drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them, as the preservative (Benzalkonium chloride) can affect soft lenses.
