Inactive ingredients include colloidal silicon dioxide, corn starch, lactose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and povidone. Health Benefits Ketoconazole tablets are indicated for treating systemic fungal infections in patients who have failed or are intolerant to other therapies. These infections include blastomycosis, coccidioidomycosis, histoplasmosis, chromomycosis, and paracoccidioidomycosis. Side Effects and Precautions Ketoconazole tablets have been demonstrated to lower serum testosterone. After discontinuation of therapy, serum testosterone levels return to baseline values. Use ketoconazole tablets only when other effective antifungal therapy is not available or tolerated, and when the potential benefits are considered to outweigh the potential risks.
