DGF Permethrin 1% w/v Cream Rinse Shampoo DGF Permethrin 1% w/v Cream Rinse Shampoo is a highly effective medicated treatment specifically formulated to eliminate head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis) and their eggs (nits). Manufactured by Drugfield Pharmaceuticals, a trusted name in Nigerian healthcare, this pediculicide provides a reliable solution for... both adults and children. How It Works The active ingredient, Permethrin (1% w/v), is a synthetic pyrethroid that targets the nervous system of lice. It disrupts the sodium channel currents in their nerve cell membranes, leading to paralysis and death of the parasites. While tough on lice, it is designed to be gentle on the scalp when used as directed. Key Benefits Fast Action: Effectively kills lice and nits in a single application for most cases. Trusted Quality: Produced by Drugfield Pharmaceuticals Limited in Nigeria. Convenient Size: The 100ml bottle is suitable for multiple applications or family use. How to Use DGF Permethrin Shampoo For the best results in treating head lice, follow these steps: Wash hair with a regular shampoo (without conditioner) and towel dry until damp. Shake the bottle well. Apply a sufficient amount of DGF Permethrin Cream Rinse to saturate the hair and scalp, especially behind the ears and at the nape of the neck. Leave the medication on the hair for 10 minutes (do not leave it on longer). Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Use a fine-tooth nit comb to remove dead lice and remaining eggs while the hair is wet. If live lice are seen 7 days or more after the first treatment, a second application may be necessary. Precautions For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with water. Consult a Meddylab pharmacist or your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
